Coordinating conjunctions join main clauses (or like constituents). Two position types:
Position-0 conjunctions
Do not occupy the Vorfeld. The following clause keeps normal V2.
Typical: und, oder, aber, denn, sondern, …
Position-1 conjunctions
Occupy the first slot; finite verb still in second position overall.
Typical: deshalb, trotzdem, dann, … (adverbial connectors that behave like Vorfeld fillers)
